About the map viewer - assembly, controls, VR

Pick a location from the navigator and its full map assembles in your browser, textured from reconstructed PlayStation video memory, alongside its enemy roster, bosses, and shops. Nothing is uploaded; your disc image never leaves your machine.

Each location ties back to the short scene label the disc uses internally (like town0d) via the CDNAME name map.

How the map assembles

The map is assembled the way the game assembles it, from the scene's mesh pack, object grid, and heightfields - see scene bundles. Sky domes are hidden (under this camera they'd cover the map). Drag to pan, right-drag to pivot, wheel to zoom.

VR

With a VR headset, the VR button lets you step inside the assembled map over WebXR (Chrome/Edge with SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime, page served over http://localhost or https). If it can't start, the button explains what's missing.

Towns

Visitable settlements - NPC dialog, shops, the inn, and the save crystal. Each entry maps to a town*, izumi, vell, geremi, balden, rayman, conc, station, or deene CDNAME block.

Field areas & dungeons

Non-town field maps - mountains, caves, castle interiors, dream sequences, and the world-map overworld. Most use the field-pack + scene-bundle containers.
